Little Man Nate

I had so much fun shooting little Nathan yesterday. He is the epitome of all things cute! The weather wasn't too bad, even the 10 degree drop on the beach didn't put a damper on our day. Nate was the man, he was very patient & and made little-to-no escape attempts (which is more than I can say for my own kids)! I think I walked away from the day having eaten more sand than Nathan, and that's pretty good for a little squish his size.. they love the crunch of the good stuff! Special thanks to my smile-helper/ "Yay Nate" assistant, Jenna-Benna! Without further ado..

My 1st Photo Session!!!

I had my 1st photo session this weekend and the weather couldn't have been better. Gary and Joanne did an excellent job as my 1st test subjects and were very patient to sit, stand, walk and pose for over 500 pictures. I picked out a few of my favorites. Hope you enjoy!!

The picture that started it all

I had not been using photoshop long, a few months maybe. I was trying to work on learning levels and curves so I needed some pictures to practice on. The lighting needed to be good on the face so I stuck my kids in an open window, went outside and started snapping away. I took about 20 or 30 pictures, but when I saw this one it was like I knew. I could make a business for myself. I knew I needed practice and I knew I needed a decent camera to start out with. So, for the past 3 years I've been hearing how I should be doing photography for a living and I have such a knack for it. So, I'm finally at the point where I feel confident enough to get my feet wet. Without further ado.. the picture that started it all:

Some non-people pictures

I do also enjoy to photograph things other than people. My favorite place in the world in the finger lakes region in New York. It's when I was born and where a lot of my family still live. Everything about New York is perfect to me.. the steep mountains and deep valleys, the winding streams and waterfalls, the lakes, the bridges, the agriculture, the people. My personal images are available for purchase, please inquire for pricing. kharrellphotography@gmail.com

This is a picture of my husband and 4 kids. We had a few freakishly warm days this winter before we were hit with two blizzards. We had to take advantage of the nice weather and get outside!

Twin feet. The only thing that is not identical is their belly button's.

A proud Dad and his daughter.

I've been dabbling in adding texture to my photographs. Here is an example. Obviously, the key is to get it just right. Too little and you can't tell it's there, too much and she's an old lady who's anti sunscreen.

A little bit about me

Even though I am brand spanking new at this whole photography thing let me assure you, this isn't my 1st rodeo. I've been editing photographs for extra money for about the past 2 1/2 - 3 years. I have spent countless hours studying and practicing the art of photoshop and graphic design. For a short time I turned from student to teacher and developed tutorials on how to photoshop. I take pride in my work and will let it speak for itself.
